Whether you know the person or not, like the person or not, support the person or not...this is tragic and saddening...
Condolences to family and friends and sympathy for Sean Abbott, the bowler...will never be the same again...

Absolutely terrible. My thoughts are with both parties. Sean must be devastated. I doubt he will ever aim for the head again.
I know I'll get blasted for this but we are entitled to have an opinion.
I wonder whether commentators and studio guests (like some in SA and elsewhere) would still advocate fast bowlers to aim for the throat or the badge.
I have always thought that that those type of coaching methods , aiming for the badge or throat, had the intention to injure or maim otherwise you would not be doing it.
Whats happened to the "gentleman's game". If you can't get him out fairly, crack his head and put him in hospital.
You can't be arrested .... it's sport. Imagine if you tried to deliberately break a footballers leg on the football field.
