In my humble opinion - at the prices they charge (R300 just to get into the course) - 4000 is probably optimistic. And I know comparing to 'world class events' overseas, R300 seems cheap - but this is South Africa

True Frodo it's not the getting in although most package are fairly heavy but it's the flights and accomodation but should be well worth the effort and cost, only Zoro can afford this year

Lets face it - the Queens Plate is a great race and the Paddock Stakes as well - but I do think they get a bit carried away - believing some UK (I think) journo, who apparently labeled it as 'one of the 5 best meetings in the world'

Only 3 or 4 - hell you are easy to please

Well I know you like your Yankees , so the obvious ones are Aces United in the first, followed by Legislate and Wavin Flag - should at least pay for your parking

For some longer priced runners, I'd suggest Savannah Song (look for 10's) in the 5th and Arion (finished in front of both Helderberg Blue and Power King in the Derby last year, gets weight from them today); not sure abt the 3 yr old fillies, but Pine Princess looks fair value at 7/1 in the 8th (Jet Belle also great value at 14/1 - having beaten Jet Aglow before over this sort of trip) - then maybe Tellina for a place in the Queens Plate (although 2/1 looks a bit skinny imo)
Enjoy
