It`s the odds of the non runners that determine the amount is deducted

Following the other clansmen explaining why the adjustment is necessary.
Furthermore, if one backs horse A in a two horse race and horse B is scratched does one really expect the bookie to pay out on horse A in now what is a one horse race? Who started this thread? Messrs good2soft and johnnycomelately - do you really think the bookies have an obligation to pay out on horse A whether the one horse race is run or not?
Mr Mac, i am not stupid,if you read my posts you will see my only comments really only says that the deck is stacked against the punter
We are the the ones that has to go with the flow and take the punches
If you read Rob and Tich's post maybe you'll get a better idea of what i mean?

The deck is not stacked against the punter and the punters are not taking the punches. And nor are the bookies, it is fair for both parties. Nobody is screwing the other.
Mac, I think it is fair to say that the deck is certainly stacked against the punter by the odds, and rules that prevail, when punting with bookmakers!!!!!! ..............the overround ensures that for starters!
Although value can be found if you are shrewd and patient ,the majority of the time, the value sits in the hands of the bookies.
The most fair punting ,IMO is a betting exchange .............person to person fixed odds, with only a facilitators fee, so odds are almost truly risk and reward related.
