Runner tonight: race 8 Across the Lake. She did not get the best of starts last time, and was then wide on the bend from 8 draw. She has the gate speed to get across from a similar draw if she jumps well. The appie gets another chance on her and she should be included in trifectas and quartets, and in bigger pick 6 perms. Black Velvet is the one to beat and has plenty of scope to improve further. If she fails to win, then it is wide open.

Hold the Line/ Shezamatador double looks fair at 3.75/1
