R1 - No value in the Fav, Rafa, Formal Request and Nation Builder appeal much more. Boxed exotics the way to go. Slight edge for Rafa based on his Fort Meyers form. Formal Request comes back to a sprint and shoukd enjoy the return to shorter.

1st - Rafa, 2nd - Special Announce, 3rd - Formal Request

R2 - Portrait looks a stand out, Striker up and less exposed than Endearing. Binda coupling interesting on breeding, as is Honeybush Tea who gets services of Lerena. But will stick with Portrait.

1st - Portrait, 2nd - Honeybush Tea, 3rd - Endearing

R3 - King and Empire gets the blinkers which should help him finish his race. Wottahottie could be hard to catch with the claimer up as she will go quickly. Woody Cape has seen money and is interesting after a break.

1st - Wottahottie, 2nd - Woody Cape, 3rd - King And Empire

R4 - Kalamchoe doesn't convince given Her previous go at the mile down the straight. Love tryst looks a cert for a place but may not be good enough. Save The Day looks an improver and should enjoy the mile under Lerena. Performance is a runner too at a price after excuses for his last 2 runs. Bahama Mama has place claims at best as this looks tougher than previous races.

1st - Save The Day, 2nd - Love Tryst, 3rd - Performance

R5 - Light The Way brings Ertijaal form to the table and we know how good that has proven to be. But he is just a 3 year old and the hard knockers in Rocco's Luck and Norgay may have something to say in this race. Lucky Luciano is also interesting as he returns from a run in the Cape where things didn't seem to go according to plan. Form Up and Thato Magestique can't be ignored either. Tough Handicap with no collateral form to guide.

1st - Lucky Luciano, 2nd - Norgay, 3rd - Light The Way

R6 - Another tough handicap, Urgent Fury has claims as he may be ahead of the Handicapper after winning for new connections last time. All of Ciao Ciao, Prince Of Darkness, Taiwan Treasure and Mai Thaiga have chances too, while Rumbling Lion may need the run after 409 days off. Sidecar needed the run last time and should strip fitter.

1st - Ciao Ciao, 2nd - Urgent Fury, 3rd - Taiwan Treasure

R7 - This sprint is all about Sir Cecil, tremendous gate speed and could easily make all. Brings in the best form when he followed up his maiden win with a good 3rd in tough company. Call Kelly comes back in distance and may benefit. While the Erasmus duo of Shannon's Boy and Dream Leader have definite place chances.

1st - Sir Cecil, 2nd - Shannon's Boy, 3rd - Call Kelly

R8 - Lumya is carrying weight and althugh she brings in form behind the Guiness Winning filly, Siren's Call, I will oppose. Lady Thistle looks like she is progressing and should she carry on her good form, she must be a runner. Chennai Babe, Samba Serenade, Dangerous Diva and Captains Diva should fill the places.

1st - Lady Thistle, 2nd - Lumya, 3rd - Captain's Diva

Good luck!!! All feedback is welcome.

It look like Striker will have a field day. I am adding SIR CECIL into the double of AGRAS and may also add LIGHT THE WAY. YANKIE

I think you might be right. I have yet someone else tell me that Marwing race 2 and 3.
Waiting for the drift then to back it in before the race.

Racing looks straight forward today and that is normally when we get shock results. As E said we could get all 8 favorites winning today.

My play for the day is staying with the favorites trend and the two I will be taking a double with are Light The Way and Sir Cecil. Both are lightly raced and have scope for improvement and IMO could be ahead of the handicapper especially on both of their last runs. Light the Way has been over the C & D and has been far from disgraced in his two feature runs. On his last run I would have him at around a 90 MR. Sir Cecil in a strong field last time also IMO ran above his rating. He is quick and I can see him getting away from his field and not looking back. At around 4/1 this looks like a nice double.

Play well.

Endearing fairly limited but prefer a 5 length beating by Sensible Lover to being touched off by Lady Thistle. Will therefore side with Endearing in the 2nd

I agree with shrek in that it looks almost too easy - so watch out

First time that I had to put the 'new look' Computaform to the test - so I have a ready made excuse if my fancies get beat

In the first Special Announce too short for my liking - but his form without the blinkers before his last run was good - evens would be fair imo - Marwing now takes the ride on an interesting first timer Nation Builder (full brother to Time of Song that could be upset material in the 5th)

The second looks a two horse affair - but the first timer Honeybush Tea does not have to be a superstar to give them a go - nothing else catches my eye

Another shallow field in the 3rd - King and Empire the obvious one, but Wottahottie with the assistance of a 2.5 kg should give K&E a go imo - interesting riding arrangements for the Azzie runners - who knows?

Kalanchoe in the 4th tries the 1600 again - bred for the trip imo, but easily held by Love Tryst on the run behind Africa's Delight - so 12/10 no value about K - Bahama Mama moderate form but just holds Save the Day on the run behind Lumya - and The Midnight Train on debut was only 4 lengths or so behind them - surely nothing else in the race?

I like Light the Way in the 5th, better than rated and at 15/10 not bad value imo

The 6th is open, I fancy a bit of Taiwan Treasure at the price

Obviously Sir Cecil has plenty going for him in the 7th, for a roughie I am looking at Shannon's Boy at the bottom of the weights - MR has come right down, improved run last time Erasmus stable as been showing signs of life

I'm in the Lumya corner in the last - I think she has the class to show these a clean pair of heels even at the weights

Enjoy B)
