More often than not, AM is on the best rated horses (based on prior performance) in set weight races so often the favouritism is justified though shorter than if another jockey were riding the horse...but strike rate on the best rated horses is about 1 in 3 or 4 meaning that 2/3 (of the horses he is riding) are performing badly on the day which doesn't make sense as I'd assume that trainers would want the horses in (close to) peak condition when best jockey is riding them to give them best opportunity to win for owner...or am I missing something ??
