Did look very unlucky, Marcus did shut the door on Cheyne once he followed Marcus through.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Not sure i agree Dean, at one stage Cheyne was a few lengths off the front runners, however when he did make up the ground, he couldn't get the gap. Be that as it may, i also think the pre-race antics may have taken something out of the horse, just my opinion though.

Pre-race, the story as to why Cheyne chose Princess over Royal Pleasure was that this filly was quirky, he knew she had immense potential and he wanted to be on her to protect his future with her and make sure she didn't have a bad experience.
I was somewhat skeptical when I heard this, but seeing what we all saw in the preliminaries, I totally believe it now.
Our filly is very quick, with a quick action, and she will get 6 this year, but going forward 5 furlongs is her trip.
Nice win for Visionaire.
Masterful ride by Anton.

BTW, I asked Glen Kotzen if the course had been watered and he said, no, but they do spread some solution on top of the grass to keep it from being damaged by the frost at this time of year. Hence the kickback.
