The Conglomerate isn't in Legal Eagles league, not by a long shot. There is no ways TC would have made the frame from draw 17 in the Derby, no chance. I love TC (and my wallet loves him even more) but there's no ways he's a July contender. French Navy will show this at the end of the month and LE will get the job done in the end for Mr Tarry. There very few lines to go through but on a couple like Illuminati and Forest Fox The conglomerate is playing PSL and LE is in the premier league. Again all TC has is a potentially good jockey which hasn't been confirmed nor has the reason for him choosing the horse. Not buying it at all.

Bayern, you are absolutely right about the record of horses short of prep runs so it is a big concern. The frustration is the fact that it is not some natural fact, but a fitness issue, but has become so part of our local methods ...................I'm not sure I understand why as in the UK, horses are brought back into Group 1 races, over 2400m,and as MdK says ,incredibly fit.
Frodo,I haven't backed anything yet and unless I get some huge inspiration ,I will have my usual interest bet ................in over 40 years.I don't think I have had 10 real punts on the July
I do enjoy trying to unravel the mystery though.
I personally have forgiven Ertijaal for his runs since returning from the Cape but my concern is the stamina as I can't get a proper handle on the breeding - perhaps one of the breeding fundi's can give us an opinion!
As I said on the day ,I thought that Majmu ran in the very worst of the going down the middle ,and IF ?? I'm right,I think that was actually an outstanding run.
The biggest problem is the mystery of what might or might not run ...........in the old days there were little alternatives so what could run ,ran .........it made ante-post betting a lot safer!

For me the rest factor is a positive. Racehorses love rests. You can show it by doing distribution graphs. As for 2nd and 3rd runs after a rest - they dont count for anything.

This thread needs to go in tandem with the "new" one ......a lot of people's posts are extensions of what they posted here!

....on 1st look one would think that this could stay all day....and I was very strong on this being MDK's next world beater......but since the question has been posed peeling the ped shows that the tail line hails from the great grand dam Easy Date who is the dam of one of the greatest sprinters ozz has ever produced.... Snippets. Yet the dam sire Juene won the Melbourne Cup over 2 miles.....the sire Hard Spun was pretty quick too grabbing Gr1 at 2 over 1200 and 1400m but was equally as lethal over further and ran 2nd in the Kentucky Derby....I would not say he cant stay as he is a plucky individual.....also last years winner Whyllie Hall also has a sprinting tail line and I brassed him totally.... so not so easy to asses which genes come to the fore....
