I don't agree - If you watch the replay and listen to the commentary the filly did not want to run - Delpech works her for the first 200m to get her mind on the job - He has to keep her interested all around the turn and in the straight he works her constantly - She's just plain green

Agree i had a huge double running with linekar as well as bipot banker.
Noways can i blame the jock. Watched the race i knew money was done as she was being worked from kiterally the jump. Will win her races though as she flew for fourth like a horse possesed

Does anyone know if Persian Rug has been leased to Kotzen and Jell by Mauritzfontein Stud or do they own the filly. I'm surprised that a 2yo filly by Mauritzfontein is not owned by Jessica Slack. Anyway I'm happy for the current owners. They put alot of hard work for De Kock.

Quite surprised with the money coming for hunting owl. Does he show enough speed to take on the 1200m? Marcus is up and Howells rates him to run well but yea.. just can't see it

10 years 3 weeks agoNow is that the Jockey or the horse? She jumped and did not want to run that's why he had to work her - What do you think he should have done? The horse, not the jockey, did not want to run - Watch the start and first 200m and you will see a green filly that does not want to race not a jockey that has made a bad decision- If you watch Persian Rug in the next race you will again see a green filly but this time her ability got her home. There was nothing Delpech could have done early in the race to have her handier than she was and that bad start caused her problems in the straightdurbs wrote: Mr hawaii look at the pace almashooqa showed on debut yet this race he wants to come from last

Race 4 - a very weak field and surely flying luxmi wouldn't get a better opportunity to leave the maidens. Having said that i will be watching.

I agree with all this ,except, that once she got into her stride in the straight, she ran on very very strongly ..................that run was unfortunately delayed, at the top of the straight, by the switching IMO !

Yes Rob that switching cost it 3rd place and probably 1st place. The jockeys decision made the horse run out the first three.
