Watching the ride in the first................... in so many races ,Anton Marcus gets horses to give more than they wanted to ..........another win out of a "beaten" horse :)
That's a special quality anywhere in the world!

i will never forget anton markus on jaypeg in dubai, leading into the straight, then beaten but coming back with a vengeance as a 500-1 !!!

RACE 8 REDCARPET CAPTAIN - His form is outstanding and on ratings alone he will come home on his lonsome.There was excuses for his last run at Greyville but still ran well enough from a poor draw.
Scottsville`s 1200m trip takes some getting and RC stays the 1200m distance well.

There are some hard knocking sprinters in the race but if REDCARPET CAPTAIN is as good as he is rated he will win..

Its a handicap...........Accept that the horse has an excellent chance as it is probably still an improver, but if it runs TO its rating ,both 4 & 5 have been rated 10 llbs higher than today,so they could have a real chance!

Having said that ,I think that Redcarpet Captain is much higher than a 101.(I have him as gross 115) so he should still win ,but if he IS a 101 then its iffy!

I think it's fairly obvious why a jockey would say that, after the fact.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
