Theirs one thing I learnt about DBN racing . Never leave out the Drier/Cormack combination as well as the Brown/Lerena combination. Cormack can win at long odds and he is proving it over and over again.

I hear you, young gun, i am always looking for an excuse to beat the fav.
Just feel this distance has come a little too soon for the Orange, who does look promising.

If you missed the P6 you can get your money back with Go for Glitter in the 10th. Working very well, Will not be easily beaten.

Guys, maybe im missing something here but on form and ratings should the Pocket not win this race.quite convincingly, even if not fully wound up. I know he is not 100% yet but I doubt the rest of the field is 100% as well. Remember PP has won with bad draws and a 10 draw is not the worst in the world for a horse that comes from off the pace.
I struggle to see how Float can beat the Pocket on any distance at level weights. The Pocket has beaten Float 3 times now, on 1200 (giving Float 2 kg), 1600 and 2000 at level weights. Bass says PP is pretty fit at the moment so I assume Float isn’t that much fitter.
The only thing that suggests a form reversal is the betting market movement. The only way I can see PP losing is if the stable arn’t trying very hard, which is possible seeing it’s PP’s his first run of the season…

To add my 2 cents (no pun intended 2 Cents); yes the Pocket should not be beaten on all evidence; but there has been some notable 'form reversals' in these type of races in Gauteng recently; Succesful Bidder got rolled when looking home and hosed on ratings; then the othe Tarry runner (Buy and Sell) got rolled when looking a certainty at the ratings; and then we all know what happened to Myhical Flight; so I think that a horse's well being counts for more than his rating. So I think the right horse is Imbongi, who is in hot form, well drawn, and anyway Eddington has shown that the older horses are vulnerable to the 3 yr olds, even if seemingly 'out at the weghts'.
Also agree with G-Man that Richmond PArk is the one to beat in the 7th.

U could be right about Imbongi but according to the stable PP is well, Tarry said on his website that Mythical Flight was not right. Eddington was not out the weights and U cannot put Succesful Bidder and Buy and Sell in the same class as Pocket Power.
I agree the ratings don’t always work but go against the Pocket at your peril!

Not to labor the point, but Eddington was definitely out at the weights; should have received by 2 to 2.5 kgs (4 lengths over the trip?) with all of Our Giant and She's on Fire, to name a few. Also Buy and Sell beat the Pocket in the July (with Sucessful Bidder just behind), so not that much to choose between them
Anyway, may the best horse win!
