This Saturday in the UK is the Eclipse Stakes. In 2007, Notnowcato, in a very enterprising and tactical ride beat the then Derby Winner, Authorized, who incidentally was Dettori's first Derby winner.

Thanks Naresh for posting these. My 2 fav horses Model Man and Pocket Power. Model Man i watched on TV, but Pocket Power i was there shouting like a mad person on the grass about 100m from the finishing line. Voice was gone for the rest of the day.

Anyone know how Pocket Power is doing?

It will be the 50th anniversary this Saturday of Secretariat capturing the Triple Crown and winning the Belmont Stakes by an astounding 31 lenghts. It was a phenomenal record breaking performance which still stands today by time and lenghts. Secretariat was one of a kind and according to most journalists/analysts probably the top 3 dirt horses of all time. When Flightline won last years Breders Cup he said that was a "Secretariat like" performance. Horses are measured how good they are or performance in relation to Secretariat. Truly one of the greatest ever, Secretariat.
