You will stop laughing and start crying when you read up on female jockey stats in SA. Facts dont lie.

You need a chance to show your skills. Equestrian events in the Olympics is unisex and there have been quite a few women winners outshining their male counterparts with Isabell Werth winning 5 Gold Medals.

9 years 9 months agoso being a jock is just about brute strength according to you?and secondly are south African lady jocks built or made differently to the lady jocks in oz and the usa ?im sure Julie krone would agree with your comments lolOver the Air wrote:pirates wrote:lol post of the year..balance, having good hands ,judgement of pace and having an affinity with horses has nothing to do with jockeyship hey?????cant stop laughingOver the Air wrote: Horse racing is a mans world. I would have Haley on any horse - She would be in the top 5 in SA year after year.

She's a good Jock , but there must be a reason why she can't get rides ?

I think it's just a question of who's considered 'fashionable' and who isn't, Bob. She seems to me to be riding as well ever, but other jockeys seem to have overtaken her when it comes to who a trainer wants on their horses (the rides she's missed through injury in recent years haven't helped in that respect of course). She's not the only good jockey 'out of favour' these days - look at Seb Sanders for example.
