I continually watch Fortune riding horses that need pushing thinking he should retire.
Goosen told me it was the Senior Jocks like Strysom that wanted the Vaal sand to close because they were not able to compete on a long shift with the younger jocks..
Seemingly they would rather ride on grass where its easier to be old and be a jock

As I think you know Greg, I definitely think the Vaal sand should stay for a number of reasons. But, for that to happen it would have to be restored to its former glory.
I accept though, as I have said a few times, that doing so might now be too costly an exercise (I don't know where you get the figures and to make comparisons with other surfaces) because they have allowed the course to become completely sh1t. I have grave doubts as to whether that was accidental and it will cost a lot of horses careers and possibly trainers etc too. No denying, at least for me, it is now a very difficult track to punt at. Not only because you never know what you are going to get, but the sh1t they have been racing on the past year or so has fluctuated almost meeting to meeting so trying to "read" the previous form is pretty much a nonsense. "Standard" my farking @rse.
Bob, surely he could just give the Vaal sand a miss, not like he needs to be riding at every meeting is it?

That horse looked pretty fit to me.In front for a long way and never stopped.Would really like to know who took the 3-1 and 5-2 after the drift.

Absolute crock of shit.... Not a bad loser by any stretch of the imagination, but all I can think of is putting the public off for own gain. I might well be and probably am wrong, but that is the perception I get...
If it wasn't for taking the bet long ago on High Game, really wouldn't be interested, and definately not taking another bet here....
