I have Barbel Run to place in an ATC, but having looked again, at 16/1, I had a nibble on Amber Sail. Also took ex and sw with these 2.

This place really is a lottery these days, one day your horse acts the next it`s tailed off and "not acting"

Guys, I have said this time and time again in so many ways, although ultimately it is the course that is the problem, if you had people in charge who had consistently been reporting the going accurately rather than every week simply saying standard, then you would perhaps have a history of form that would be useful.
You would not back a horse on the turf that acts on good to firm but not on soft after a hurricane had just hit the course would you? The impression I get is that the Vaal sand course is kinda similar, the going can fluctuate to extremes but you simply don't know what the going really is. It is imo therefore impossible to bet on the course currently (and for some time now) with any degree of confidence because you don't know the conditions... and never have. You can still find winners if the one you like happens to enjoy the conditions that particular day but, it is a bigger gamble than usual here because you are blind to that info, on the day and historically.
But, rather than blaming the course itself, it is the authorities you should be screaming at, both for allowing the course to become so poor and inconsistent, and for not reporting conditions accurately.

don't need to tell me twice. like a weeks worth of profit i did today. bets that i think on any other course at least 2/3rds of em woulda come in. but today not one came in. don't get me wrong I shouldn't have been doubling up and chasin (seldom do that) but when you see so many miss and we're talking place bets here, that are backed in , endorsed by trainers and "analysts".
sigh, this game can be rough. the swings....
i'm done at vaal sand tho. that's for sure.
have lost but ain't lost the lesson. I am skipping this next week.
