Great run.

Random observation from my side, but I landed in Abu Dhabi on Thursday morning and one of the first things I do whenever I get to a hotel is to flick through the TV stations and see the fare on offer.

Came across the Dubai Racing channel and I can tell you that there was plenty of interest in the South African runners in this field - although my understanding of Arabic is limited to a greeting - and they seemed to be raving about Harry's Son in particular. Plenty was shown of his performances back home.

Looking forward to this. Some good performances from the MDK team will perk my interest for the carnival.

I've been a very patient boy waiting for Ertijaal to make his appearance in the Carnival :P

I'm pretty sure he is MDK's big hope for the Carnival, to win all those 1800m-2000m races that Vercingetorix won last year and year before that. The names escape me. His form is rock solid. Another won I've followed from his debut on the poly at Greyville. Won the Cape Derby, ran behind the best horse in the country, Legal Eagle, in the SA derby and ran second in the daily news 2000 behind French Navy. I don't think I have to say anything regarding the strength of that form.

Look to keep things short, If Ertijaal brings his SA form and ability to the Meydan racetrack tonight, then they're all running for second, being a group 3 event too.

Of the balance, Bossy Guest isn't the worst sort. Had some good runs behind the likes of Gleneagles last season etc. Big Baz could get a shout in too.

For a horse who has not run for 243 days, the price is a bit short and the stable jockey is riding Forries Waltz who has had a run two weeks ago. Ertijaal may still win but I'd rather take the stable companion at 3's.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Soumillon's the stable jock Bayern but he can't ride Ertijaal even if he wanted too. Hanagan is the retained rider for Ertijaal's owners. Regarding Forries Waltz, yes he can win it and he does receive 2 kgs from Ertijaal. However I feel if he is to win, then Ertijaal will have to run below par as I think he is the better horse.

Kifaah showed some class there in a race that was easy on the eyes. Starting to see what some of you like about Meydan.

Ertijaal is the class but he will improve for the run.
Forrie's waltz will run well but I'm a little concerned about him. I like the old man mujaarib to run well.
