He has won his last eight races with a MR of less than 76. This guy has earned over 600k in stakes in the lower divisions (another that comes to mind is Where's My Chop) I think at some point you can make a case for a MR cap for a horse that has won 4 or more races? Also a horse that is a Group 1 winner or placed should surely never be rated less than 90?

The mare For The Lads which clearly never train on from a 2yo Grade 1 Winner, should still be rated 90 ?

Yes without a doubt - She earned that rating and more importantly the STAKES( and Black Type )- If she losses form because of injury or other horses catching up with her then so be it - The owners have had the benefit of a win at that level and maybe 400k in stakes - Now should we let her run down to a 70 because she did not train on? Others will say yes but for me that is not fair and can (i'm not saying this happened here) lead to manipulation

I would rather have a horse retire because it cannot compete from a Grade 1 rating it earned legitimately than let it run itself down and arrive when it's 20 points lower. That is not good for the sport and terrible for the betting public.

In the UK they seem to make a bigger thing of horses not training on...

In South Africa they have a problem and retire to the barns without anyone noticing

Look no further than Tiggy Wiggy, should have went for the Abbaye as a 2yo with all those allowances. Only placed in a Grade 1 as a 3yo, and not at its premium distance.

some outsiders to consider
San Julian Bay(quartets - Chris Cross Man hard to beat)
TIP OF THE GLACIER - half-sister to a horse that was unbeaten first three starts. Could be anything.
Champions Cup 9-10 fixed 4 places
TRULY EVELYN - quartets
BURG go close
NICE STRIDE 3.5kg better off for 3.8 length beating by Captured Wind - old guy but improving in new yard
DE LA VERE(needs to be sat on a little longer - went too early last time) and WOTAHOTTIE
PRINCESS PEARL and RARING TO GO(rated by stable but better this class )
