9 years 5 months agoThey are ok-ish in the lower divisions because a 4 or 5 mare that is racing in MR 68 really is moderate and has really limited improvement to come. When they go against older fillies that have raced in top company they struggle. The missing link wrote:mr hawaii wrote: Confirmed again THIS IS THE WORST CROP OF THREE-YEAR-OLD FILLIES to race for many a year.

I disagree. Clearly not up to the exceptional standard of last year's crop, but not a bad bunch, and at least as good as the average seen over the past decade.
Silver Mountain is top class.
Entisaar, Princess Royal are good sprinters.
Negroamaro is progressive, and could end up a top sort.
MadameDubois, She's a Dragon,Cosmic Light, Our Destiny all very promising.
Chestnut n Pearls and Lauderdale have been disappointing this term after winning Gr 1s, but I think the problem is they have been chasing the sales races instead of having been given proper rests after tough juvenile campaigns.
There is still a long season ahead, and still time for more late maturing types to emerge.
The bad handicapping of 2yo and early 3yo runners persists- excessively high ratings after one or two good runs- and then the youngsters have to bump hard knockers in handicaps because there are no novice or graduation races.

Was that a betting coup?
Yard has the well touted FAV with form in the book, stable companion claimed twice at least and looked "the" buzzer

How Stratocruiser could go to the front in that headwind is beyond me. Great ride by S'Manga he is really riding at the top of his game. Makes me want to have a cover in the next on Bichette . Have already done a couple of patents on to Tevez.
