I think 15/20 or 7/10 about KELLIE FIRTH is big . If Lerena was up it would be 4/10 having killed the second fav by a cricket pitch last time. Beaten by one of the better staying fillies last time and should win. The Jockey can ride well or awful also which is my only concern.

I see the penetrometer reading is given as 20 - with no rainfall in the last 24 hours - does anyone know if this is correct, as we had rain in Midrand overnight ?

Just spoke to a trainer, he says that intead of cutting the grass to about 90mm, they have started cutting to 45 mm... and the track is rock hard

So when it rained the other day and last night the rain is disapearing nearly as quick as it falls

So he says the yup PEN 20 accurate

I like the favourite in the 6th race.

R1: Workriders - pass

R2: Tiger's Touch looks hard to beat, but at the odds I had a little go at Easy Street - good penultimate run and may just get away from Tiger's Touch who will probably come from off them again

R3: These maiden fillies have confusing form - can't make up my mind but would included China White in trifecta's and quartets

R4: I think South Atlantic will improve over the extra 200 - so not much to choose imo between her and Runalong - Spring Indeed could improve, but it looks a match race

R5: Rikitikitana has a lot going for him here and must rate the one to beat; for me Duke Nukem showed last time that 1400 is just too far (but what do I know) - bigger danger imo is Kings Archer - a year older and getting weight from his younger competitors - ran Heartland (a runner in the QP) to 1,8 lengths - needed his first start up here and I had a go at the 7/1 offered earlier

R6: Again it looks a match race between Smartipants and Hermoso Mundo - Newbury seemingly finding some betting support, but needs to improve some on his debut

R7: Getting tougher as we go along - His Legacy on the up and could complete his hat-trick - but many others are looking to prevent that - Street Flyer is overdue for his next win - most of the others look over-priced - for me I think Pyramus, Gentlemen Only and Pacific G need serious consideration

R8: Another race where one horse (Super Glue) stands out, if he fails there are a lot of others that could win it - Frikkie and Felix M the most likely imo

R9: I think the betting here (bar maybe the favorite) is totally wrong; on collateral from through El Bombero, Uposeupay looks great value; Tiki Torch and The Honorable Don also being offered at big odds and I'm going wide in the last leg of the P6.
