Not that I have much interest (self-imposed sabbatical), but surely the uk have more rain consistantly for 3 days before a meeting and they still race........

Plenty of the Jocks riding will have commitments at Turffies and Kenilworth with late finishes. Would imagine there will be plenty of Jockey changed especially in the first few race.

I hear you Craig, but surely everything was tested way back? So the reason will be something that wasnt covered initially? I just cannot think how something can now pop up at the 1200m. Apologies for being negative.....im not normally negative.....but im so tired of rain affected meetings....another thing that irks me is horses breaking through the pens. When last have you seen a horse overseas break through the pens??

advised that tonight’s Greyville Racemeeting has been postponed to tomorrow night (Saturday, 16 January 2016).

The Polytrack was rendered unsafe at the 1200m mark where the drainage system failed to cope with the torrential downpour over Greyville during the course of Friday afternoon. The cause of the severe flooding in that area will be investigated with the team from Polytrack but hopefully in the short term weather conditions will allow for the meeting to proceed tomorrow evening with all race times remaining unchanged.

Peekay, we are all as bewildered as you. It has never happened before. I am sure they will find the reason. The pens have been strengthened by the looks of it as if you saw Academy princess last time out she hit the pens extremely hard and they did not open.Dean321, He was on the float that turned around. He is back in his stable already. no harm done I hope. :)
