9 years 3 months agoI not had a bet here today and I just watched this race. I swear the jocks in the Cape cannot judge anything.Farawaysaint wrote: I think Gold Coast Captain has Big chance.
How will a horse win from keeping it that far back. I guess it has rockets under the hood.
absolute joke.

Royal Duchess from a good draw is the one to beat. Rebel's Burst good debut, but drawn wide here. If overcoming the draw, will fight it out. Moulina fair form and has draw 1.
Race 2:Mr Wise Guy is a short priced favourite and is progressive, but too skinny for me. A Time to Kill is much better value.
Race 3: Banderos is by far the best horse here, but Vaughan Marshall cautioned on USO that he returns from a bad injury and will need the run. Fort Infinity useful debut, and is selected to win from Gold Coast Captain and All Magic.
Race 4:

[]Sunshine Lady will not find a better opportunity to shed her maiden tag.[/]
Race 5: Quite an open maiden, but Doctorow, Global Nomad, Rock on Geordies and King of Babylon should fight it out. Global Nomad the value ew.
Race 6: Very open race. Exclusive Knight took 36 runs to win his maiden, but is consistent, well handicapped and good ew value at 12/1.
Race 7: another field leg. Galaxy King is well in at the weights and could be the right one.
Race 8: we have Entre Nous here- and again a wide draw makes life difficult. She is fit and well, and with some luck in the running will run in the money. Speedball and Elusive Empress appeal in a very competitive field.
nice one pistol pete

One of the things that gets lost sometimes is that there are many diverse interests in racing, and every situation suits somebody.
The present situation in Cape Town might be problematic for operators, but is just fine for punters.............no horses prepping and small stables trying for their lives,so horses being raced on merit and form pretty well working out.
Whilst all the goings on at Turfontein ,my best bet of the entire day was Sunshine Lady @ incredible value.
(Not being an arm ,just pointing out that there is no difference between a rand won in a maiden and a rand won in a feature)....................and sometimes the easier rands are in more obscure places!
