What makes it so interesting Chris ?
It is very interesting and I am supposing there is an interesting story behind this one! Jim, Aussie bred horses are expensive to buy and in some cases more expensive to ship over here. The horse is trained by a trainer who plies his trade in Kimberley, the outback of SA racing and hardly the norm for an expensive unraced horse to find itself. The jockey choice is also interesting as this guy is not a regular at Highveld tracks.

Vars Pride had two good runs in strong maidens before a short rest. Drawn 2 which could be the best side of the straight being the inside course. Looks to have a decent shout.
Mombela looks the right one in the last should strip fitter today and could prove too strong for this field.
Play well.

Very odd jockey booking this.
Grant Behr doesn't even ride in Kimberley, and yet he's carded to fly from Cape Town to Jhb to go and ride 1 horse for a stable that never has runners in Jhb.
2 Hours still until race 1,but no jockey change at this stage.

Not doing a blog as not strong on anything but a few of my early "self-notes"...
R1 Interesting that Bingo is represented and their raider, Pampierstad, is a half-brother to one who has gone silver-gold in his 2 runs to date. Interesting jockey booking. The other debutant to catch the eye is the Tarry runner, A Greater Power, a half brother to Solar Triptych and full brother to Potent Power who has won 3 of his 5 starts culminating in Group 1 success lto. Those runs all came over 1000-1200 so a little interesting that Tarry opens up over 1400.
R2 On lines through Beckoning, not much to choose between Ektifah and Last Chirp but over the extra I prefer the former. 50c e/w Brief Moment.
R3 Original jockey bookings suggest stablemate was preferred and may need the run after 16 weeks away but I might have a few rand on Pachuco anyway as I think his second run was a decent effort. That said, I think Rock On has a decent shout if overcoming a possibly tricky draw. Vars Pride likely right there. Centrefield and King Of Cloth both possibly put in better efforts lto, R1 e/w on both.
R4 Royal Regatta put in a decent effort lto and from a good draw might enjoy the extra. Quattro the danger and possible value. Couple of rand on Rain Shadow, might enjoy the extra.
R5 Perfect Grace potentially value off the low weight from a good box. Mai Thaiga 2/3 over c/d, worth a rand or two e/w from stall 4. Lock Him Up my preference of the shorter ones.
R6 Rocky Stallone, 2 gold, 3 silver in 5 c/d runs. 1 box.
R7 With trainers sounding none too confident or implying they are primarily prepping and others returning from rests etc this could be a "WTF!!??" race! Pref for Seattle Lady but taking account of all having a few rand on Caughtinthedeep and R1 e/w on the rank outsiders
R8 Mombela x On The Nod
Be(s)t of luck to all
