Will the meeting go ahead on the 3rd ?
if the JHB Raiders scratch the 2 six horse races turn to 4
Pinnacle race worth 100k with 6 or 7 runners

Craig
1) If it was not Bill Human ' s horse, but a KZN horse, it would be OK then, in your opinion.
2) The "bad" horse of Bill Human WON !
3 ) To reinforce my point, u guys are not filling your fields. Not last Sunday nor this one coming.
4) If u don't fill your fields, your turnover will decline and your takeout too. U will then have to take from your limited reserves from the sale of Clairwood. And when that's gone u are stuffed.
5) There should be no restrictions, no guaranteed runners Countrywide. Those that qualify should run. Simple.
6 ) Bad horses must be retired. This will keep the Owner ( yes, the KZN Owner too) in the game. Rather train less horses, have less Owners weighing in mindlessly, than to fill a stable with a no hoper.
7) When Racing starts to cater for the far below average types, we are gone. Horse Chestnut and the Chestnut horse eat the same, need the same basics. The Chestnut horse mostly needs much more attention than Horse Chestnut, to even run midfield in a weak maiden race. Let the Chestnut Horses go and rather spend your time finding the Horse Chestnuts.
Or , demand protection and special conditions for the Chestnut horse and in so doing, cost the Owner unnecessary money, probably driving him out of racing for good. No Trainer is always right. But when we are, when we know that the horse is not competitive, we MUST tell the Owner asap ! What we MUST NOT DO is bullshit the Owner and cry for special protection and conditions.
Just remember that the betting public, the ones who fund our industry don't get too excited about the Chestnut Horse. But they LOVE the Horse Chestnuts of Racing. ..
Quality must rule.

Louis, we can go on and on with this and we going around in circles. I am not changing my stance on supporting owners who support Natal racing. They are my first priority. It is only in the maidens and lower divisions( 74 and under) that these restrictions should be in place in my opinion. You yourself tabled the opening up of all racing at the NHRA AGM and it was not even put to a vote. In regards to your points.
1) Natal trained horses in certain races should get in first.
2) The bad horse I was talking about is in tomorrow not yesterday.
3) No centre fills their fields if the right races are not programmed.
4)We have a meeting with GC very 3 months and they are much happier
with the last 3 months and made a profit and the sale money is ring-fenced
and can only be used after a full general meeting and the ok of the members.
5) This was discussed above and as I said, it was not even discussed at the
AGM except to say that it would not be discussed there then.
6) I tell my owners exactly what I think of the horse and it is up to them
to decide.
7)Horse Chestnuts are 1/10000. Hard to only race with them or trying to find them.
Are you saying that we are all bullshitting the owners? Is every horse in your yard
a good horse and no useless/moderate ones are in training that have very little hope
of winning or running places?
Anyway as I said I will not change my view. Come race in Natal all you want just don't
bring your rubbish( sorry you don't have any).PLEASE bring your good horse they are very welcome.
Anyway I am not arguing anymore. I will do what I thing Is right for my owners.

Yes. If any horse is a reserve runner it can be scratched at anytime and not receive a suspension.

Craig
1) Your points are definitely not wrong. Your stance is great.
2) We all have weak horses. It's just about how long we should keep them and if we should be protecting those particular horses. Especially given the local financial climate.
3) Ultimately, your fields are not full.
4) Why are the amounts of Juvenile runners decreasing every year ?
5) I never attended the NHRA AGM.The simple reason was that they chose to hold it on the day before CTS book 1..where my Owners attended and where we bought horses...not great planning imho.
6) You might have added, seeing as you attended the AGM, that NOT ONE motion was passed. .... that would be honest reporting.
The one that u keep on ignoring is the proposal on EHV vaccinations becoming compulsory. THAT is actually what is hampering field sizes more than anything else, more severely on the young stressed horse. As horses get older, severity, duration and percentages of the crop gradually reduce.
Ultimately, that's the point that everyone is missing. We cannot expect vets to vote for a few million rand less in turnover and we definitely cannot let the TBA and their Breeders decide on this one, as this is the same bunch who wanted to pass on the paltry costs of microchipping weanlings to the buyers of yearlings....
In closing, have a look at our juvenile Feature fields for tomorrow at Turffontein. Also very small.
The NHRA must act on EHV !

So who is is bullshitting who?
Are you not bullshitting the public here and the NHRA or is the owner of the horse a bullshitter because i hear she is actually injured and been scratched because of that and not because of your reserve runner reasoning

Point 4 as per Mick Goss in his speech at the Asian Conference this year. You left a comment as well

When I first addressed you in 1995, we were home to 545 breeders, 158 stallions, our annual foal crop numbered north of 5000 and I still had a good crop of blonde hair.
In 2014, there were 148 registered breeders, 103 stallions, 3400 foals and the decline has left me with very little hair.
There’s an old saying that if you want to go prematurely grey and lose your hair, get into horsebreeding or hospitality. I did both.
The attrition was partly due to the international financial meltdown, but much of it has to do with our frustration at the constraints on our exports.

If he is too scared to supply his name then maybe he is more closely related to Elton's John!
