Sheza ....get onto hollywood asap

They got 16/1 and 36/10 for 4 places still available.

Got a very easy ride last week. If a 3 year old dont win he is the best older horse and he is clearly prepped to get no extra penalties for the big one.

French Navy (Rated 115) is the highest rated horse bar Legal Eagle and Abashiri. It is going to shoulder the top weight if those two dont run so its going to be giving the whole field weight. At the current ratings it will give a horse like Mac De Lago (102) 6.5kgs, Master Sabina (108) 3.5kgs and Deo Juvente (106) 4.5kgs!!!!

If Legal Eagle and French Navy dont run, and Abashiri lines up, does this mean the highest weight in the field will be 57kgs  Or can they raise Abashiri weight to 60kgs but bare in mind that the highest weight a 3yo can carry is 57kgs

I think French Navy will run, but you do raise an interesting point; as I read the conditions, IF both LE and FN don't run and Abashiri does (which I don't think will happen); Abashiri will have to carry 60 kgs (see point 5 below):

1. The weights to be carried shall not exceed 60kg and shall not be less than 52kg.

2. Minimum weight for 4-year-olds and older:
Colts and Geldings 53kg Fillies and Mares 52kg.
Maximum weight for 4-year and older at publication of weights:
Colts and Geldings 60kg Fillies and Mares 59kg

3. Minimum weight for 3-year-olds:
Colts and Geldings 53kg Fillies 52kg
Maximum weight for 3-year-olds at publication of weights:
Colts and Geldings 57kg Fillies and Mares 56kg

4. No penalties shall be incurred after the publication of weights.

5. Notwithstanding 2 and 3 above, the Handicapper will raise all weights proportionately to 60kg. Should the top weight originally allotted be less than 60kg at final declaration.

Just my stupid opinion naresh,
Is any of the 3 you mentioned better than their current ratings ????
Just my opinion.... NO

French navy i am 100% sure is better than his current 115 and if legal eagle dont run and/or captain america dont get supped he will carry top weight but he will still be better of at weights with others because i truely believe he is much closer to legal eagle than the 5 points currently.
Also in french navy's favour is he won a grade 1 already at greyville so the track and distance will suit him perfectly.
Master sabina had plenty unsound problems , deo juvente only knows the long straights of turffontein and vaal (how will he cope with a rough bumping july and a short straight and travelling) and mac de lago had 10 races in graded company and ran only once in top 3 places when 2nd behind The comglomerate and that form of that race didnt hold up .

So my opinion, FRENCH NAVY currently the horse to beat because on saterday's easy run he is underrated and brilliantly prep by the undisputed best trainer in the country.

I used the word like horses, so its not necessarily those horses. The last top weight that won was El Picha and dont know when before that. On the Summer Cup Form, Master Sabina and Mac De Lago will have him beat on the current weights.

Sheza, see, he is now half that price and 4th in the betting, after tomorrow will be even shorter and will keep on shortening. Hope you got on ;)

Very interesting reading all these comments but is anyone taking into account the pace?
Seems to me to be the norm in the feature races this season and that will even bring a horse like Rabada with stamina doubts into the mix....remember he won the daily news and if they crawl again he could win the July as well!!!

My 2c worth. I feel St Tropez has flown under the radar and continues to do so with the Snaith and Azzie horses fueling all the hype. Solid Speed, has been mentioned once or twice and is not a bad animal. ST Tropez didnt not finish very far off SS lto, returning from a 6 month layoff and in my untrained eye, I really fancied the way he finished off that race. I seriously believe he is a major runner and wouldnt be suprised to see it take the spoils.

Karma, I too was super impressed with ST. My only concern is 2nd run after long break in what is a really stiff race normally.
If Samurai Blade gets in with a decent weight and fair draw, that's where my money will go. Ignore the last run at Greyville.

No, because Sammy Silver told me that it has no chance of making the field.
