The Drill Hall is a Weight For Age Race with penalties. Legislate and Act of War both Grade 1 winners hence the 1kg more.

Re: Entries Guineas and Drill Hall
9 years 4 months agoi think it works something like this...its a grade 2 race with weights determined by bands of weight. 4 year olds carry 58 and 3year olds 56. Penalties do apply in cases on grade 1 winners-extra 2kgs and gr2 winners-1kg...act of war a previous grade1 winner and ice machine a grade 2 winner.Karma wrote: Bob, how does it work that Ice Machine (7yr) MR113 carries 59, and Act of War (4yr) MR112 carries 60? Just to add to this I think the Graded race wins only counts for the last two years as Gold Onyx is a former Grade 1 winner.

Will never forget his run in the million dollar under the Appie, think he tops the boards with most stake money won in South Africa. Very sad news, RIP
