The Drill Hall is a Weight For Age Race with penalties. Legislate and Act of War both Grade 1 winners hence the 1kg more.

i think it works something like this...its a grade 2 race with weights determined by bands of weight. 4 year olds carry 58 and 3year olds 56. Penalties do apply in cases on grade 1 winners-extra 2kgs and gr2 winners-1kg...act of war a previous grade1 winner and ice machine a grade 2 winner.

Just to add to this I think the Graded race wins only counts for the last two years as Gold Onyx is a former Grade 1 winner.

Out of curiosity i'd just like to know how the Illuminator was sidelined?
Was actually looking forward to see him in KZN

Horse hurt his leg rather badly, during a gallop....... :angry:

In plaster at the moment and probably wont run again this year (?)....... :unsure:

Maybe never run again.............(hopefully it will get over it!)......

Was going to Durbs for the season but alas wasn't to be..............

Will never forget his run in the million dollar under the Appie, think he tops the boards with most stake money won in South Africa. Very sad news, RIP :(
