Note that Tarry and Smith have parted as per Freeracer.
Never easy when a fairly successful partnership splits.
By all accounts the Smith strength is as a good judge and workrider.
Terrance Millard only had about four first jockeys in his career
Heyman,Kannemeyer for a short period,Abercrombie,Coetzee.
Used Lasker,Sutherland as lightweights and they picked up many good races.
Quite a record

surely that poor run on Mythical was not the only cause for the break up.... we all know you can't win them all, but we sure like to try.

must be something more than meets the eye ?

the big advantage Brett had was he could ride at 52 I think, what is the min Gavin will ride at ? will Tarry need an appy to ride the light weights ? ( or Muzi yeni perhaps ? )

I don't think Brett should retire. Think of what immense value he could be to smaller yards.

Brian Nyawo is doing ok on the light weights and it will be a pity if Smith leaves the game as he has so much experience - perhaps he could become Gauteng's answer to Garth Puller

That you do Puffin and if you could would you tell the Jocks that are there to walk the course before winter racing to establish which side of the track is best to use up the straight and then stick to it!!!I'm as confused as a teenager in a brothel when it comes to the Kenilworth straight

On Sat everyone thought that the outside was best going....BUT no-one really tried the inside....yday inside, middle slightly better than ouside. This isnt the lottery, we shouldnt have to thumb suck which draw is better up the straight....traditionally a low draw is best at Kenilworth bar winter when its wet and the outside draw is better....

Spot on Puffin we really do need to know - i have to put a high and low draw in races up the straight to try to survive the Pa - inveriably i loose one runner due to the draw
