The three-year-old Second Empire colt Ole Gunnar from the Paul Lafferty stable has been supplemented into the R2-million, Grade 1 Daily News 2000 to be run at Greyville Racecourse on Saturday, May 28 while three horses have been withdrawn.

The two-time winner that has also placed in three other races in his eight races to date is also an entry for the R4.25-million, Grade 1 Vodacom Durban July.

The three runners withdrawn from the original 27 nominations for the premier three-year-old clash over 2 000m are Jama from the Alyson Wright yard, the Fort Wood filly Negroamara from the stable of Johan Janse van Vuuren and the Port Elizabeth entry Welsh Emperor that was nominated by leading Eastern Cape trainer Alan Greeff.

There were no supplementary entries for, or scratchings from either the R1-million, Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 or the R250 000, Grade 3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup to be run on the same day.

Final declarations for the three races fall due at 11am on Monday, May 23.

Interesting:

Black Arthur scratched. Delpech gets the ride on It's My Turn.Could this possibly be Snaith's July horse and not Black Arthur? He did win the Cape derby very well.

Not sure what is going on; according to the declarations on sahorseracing, Negroamara has been scratched from the Daily News, but is still showing as a runner in the Woolavingtonm where Silver Mountain has been taken out

And what's the story about Black Arthur - imo not guaranteed to get in to the July on the basis of his win in the Guineas - so why take him out if not injured ?

Helderberg blue should go well at 5's
Nightingale run well last run and should be in the shake up 3's
To me Ten Gun Salute will enjoy the extra, run a good 4th in the Guineas and is at 5's
4/1 place bet to me on some Cape Town horses a place for nice pay out..
