If you get a speeding fine and don't get a summons will you go and pay it .As a good South African .

YJ, you're not using an appropriate example to substantiate and I'll explain why. In fact your example supports my position.
The first reason is that a speeding fine and related summons is not in the public domain. Although it happens in public, it is a private matter. When a CEO of a company whose business is dependent on the public assaults a member of that same customer base, then any responsible body / head / shareholders will act swiftly and take action to assure the public that these incidents are not treated lightly. Take note, I am not saying the CEO must be dismissed or treated unfairly, but the incident cannot be treated indifferently either. The word that comes to mind is DISDAIN. I get the impression here that the RA and NHRA feels that the racing public at large is unworthy of consideration or respect in their eyes.
Secondly, the example you use I will respond to that in my personal capacity. Whenever I get a speeding fine (and I have had a few - most recently 2 x R1000 fines on the same day at the same place in opposite directions), as a responsible citizen, I pay it. There is no doubt as to what my actions would be. The question is "Is the RA and NHRA reflecting that same sense of responsibility?"

Very very good article.I have always got a bad vibe from this bloke from that time during the JnBMet/July draw...and he kept on 'putting Clyde(not sure if it was him,but almost certain) down, too the extend that I changed the channel.Nobody should belittle others just coz they have a higher position than them, and that's what he did that day...was a real Nazi! I for 1 hope that some sort of justice prevails...or at least that he gets what he deserves soon...karma is a bitch after all.

Forums are all about opinions
imo the NHA handling of this was correct as they allowed enough time for the ; punter , witnesses , friends of witnesses and every man and his dog to come forward with their version of events before a media release was made and a sanction issued. By the way yes I am a friend of the accused.

Len, I agree with you regarding Forums and opinions. Here's one...........
The NHA responded to this matter pretty much in the same way the ruling party handled Nkandla (and a few others). Just so that I am clear - in super slow motion, swept under the carpet for as long as possible, and total lack of accountability for actions of the number one.
If the accused advised the NHA immediately of the situation, why did they take so long to send out a public message. Just a simple note identifying an incident happened and they were investigating it. It would have been in the NHA and the accused's favor if they advised the accused had in fact presented his information immediately. Not done.
I have no allegiance to anyone, but even if I did, I would feel the same way. If the CEO of Suncoast Casino had assaulted a patron, how do you think the Casino would have handled it?
How do you feel about the Nkandla matter? Just rhetoric, not asking for a response on Nkandla and start a whole new topic altogether.
It is important to support friends through tough times even when they are wrong. That's why we are friends in the first place, but it does not mean that we have to agree with the actions.

Len Sham what would your viewpoint have been if the shoe was on the other foot so to speak? Protecting a friend is an admirable trait and I commend you for that, condoning unacceptable behaviour is not. Would you still protect someone regardless of what the offence was? As an aside, the NHA have said nothing about this incident, the press release is from the RA. It is important to differentiate.

Bob, another strange but interesting comment-Can we assume then, that the punter has been charged with assault and that the police have been provided with all the CCTV footage to help identify him?
