Not the easiest of cards for punting but some exciting racing:
Race 1: Just Cruised in good debut, looks promising
Race 3: Pop Star
Race 3: Seymour, but go wide in PA
Race 4: We have Silvan Star running. She unfortunately did not travel well at the beginning ofthe season, and had a few setbacks- we had planned to throw her into the KZN Fillies Guineas. She may need this run, and has to overcome a poor draw, but she is over her niggles, and is a runner. I make Penny Serenade the one to beat in an open race.
Race 5: The Secret is Out to beat the Tarry and de Kock onslaught.
Race 6: Oomph to beat Horse Guards, Rivarine and Seattle Singer
Race 7:Carry on Alice will win if at her best. If Princess Royal behaves herself she will go very close. Lanner Falcon to make up the trifecta. Will be watching the speedy Elusivenchantment with interest.
Race 8: Guiness is slung in at the weights on best form. Captains Causeway is improving rapidly and is well weighted. Gulf Storm needed his last and is a big runner. Ernie is working well and has had two good local runs. Hoping he can be in the first 3.
Race 9: Weak field - would put the whole lot in the pick 6. Thaler Point had soundness issues, and we think that we have sorted her out. May need the run, but is well in here on her best earlier form.
Race 10: If you still have any money left, then maybe a small wager on Lavender Bank and Noodle.
Pretty amazing that Derby winner Elusive Fort has useful runners in both the big sprints.

For me, the downside of these Grade 1/big meeting cards, I tend to go on perception. What is genuinely a good thing versus the bookmakers prices, especially when it comes to the juvenile races on the day. It is just so difficult for the on the head player.
I fancy Oomph. Does the change of stables from a PE yard to a Jhb yard make him an automatic winner because he has moved to a "bigger" centre yard?
Tend to agree with Frodo, this is a difficult card, overall, still believe Oomph is the one to be with.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

RACE 1 LEGEND - The step upto 1600m should suit
RACE 2 POP STAR - Has been running on strong over shorter, extra 200m looks perfect for her
RACE 5 SECRET IS OUT - Bred to be a Champion, has done nothing wrong in two runs so far
RACE 6 OOMPH - Changed hands for telephone numbers, acid test for new yard but has looked the real deal in PE
RACE 7 CARRY ON ALICE - Best sprinter in the country, looks to have an easier task "on paper"
RACE 8 GUINESS - Wide open sprint but on bits of old form Charles Lairds runner would be hard to beat at the weights.

I took my patent when the betting opened up
The Secret Is Out [P]
-Watched her win last time and won well.
Horse Gaurds [P]
-Last time at the course he looked like he was running all over but should know better this time.
Lanner Falcon [P]
- Last time against Real Princess lots of horses came to the inside and she was trapped behind them, bump a horse to get through and took of late. Better off at the weights this time.
Barbosa [P]
- Took the trip to JHB last time finished like a train the last 100m against COA. 4kgs better off with TTTTS and is back at his home ground.
Good luck clanners
