Nothing strong but thought I'd do a scribble for a change...

R2 A couple of obvious candidates but a couple of others worth a mention for whatevers are, firstly, Tenderwood who made a respectable return from a lengthy break lto and the booking of Lerena caught my eye. The value though might be with Wasp. This one hails from the in form Alexander stable and was only 2.4l behind Queen Laurie (and 1.7l ahead of Pippi Shortsock) over 1200 lto. The heavily backed fav here, Sao Paulo was beaten 3.5l by Queen Laurie (and 2.3l ahead of Pippi) over 1160 lto. Having had a tricky draw in 8, Wasp was running on late in that last run, finishing better than Pippi, and the extra might well suit. With a very good draw of 2 here the 25/1 looks worth an e/w nibble / places etc.

R3 A complete nutter and literally a dig deep for loose change bet is Brave Option who has finished last in all three sprints to date but might appreciate this steep step up in trip. At 66/1 or more, it won't hurt risking that a couple don't perform on the day and this one improves a lot over the extra.

Race 5 - Scare Tactics. In 13 runs the horse has five top 3 finishes... one gold, 3 silver and a bronze. Today's jockey is Khumalo. He has ridden the horse on five previous occasions with one gold, 3 silver and a bronze. Seems to get on with the horse where others struggle to do so?
All of those rides though came while the horse was a maiden and form since his win has been pretty dire. He does have some big form turnarounds to find and all good runs must come to an end, but 20/1 plus in a 9 strong field, it may be worth a nibble on the combination continuing to produce...

Race 6 - Antonius Charm has been dropping in the ratings and has had to contend with a lengthy series of poor draws. Admittedly was also drawn poorly when doing well before a long run of "blanks" so could just have lost have lost all form but the run three back to Roving Jet wasn't the worst. Plenty against it (such as seemingly horse, trainer and jockey form! lol) but it may be worth throwing a couple of rand in it's direction tomorrow with the 3 box secured. Has won (in a total of six top three c finishes) three times on the course and Munger has got 2 golds (22/1 and 14/1) and a silver (8/1) in 4 rides on the horse, though it does appear those rides came in something of a purple patch for the horse. Rain Shadow from the 1 box may be worth a nibble and American Tiger another with credentials here imo.

R8 Both have seen some support (as has Catch A Thief) but I give Lady Torera and Jewel Of Gibraltar claims here. JOG has had 4 poor draws since winning her maiden and despite that, has run respectably in a couple of them. Gets the 4 box here. She had Russian Friend 1.5l back when winning her maiden and that one subsequently beat Navette by 3l, the latter is currently the 4/1 fav for this race. I managed to get 16s but is still worth considering at double figures imo. I give River Run a fair chance here and that must also bring LT into the equation, beaten 2.8l by RR lto but had a poor start that day and though Striker is up on RR his draw is not good and LT gets a 7kg pull here (and 4kgs with CAT who was 0.2l behind LT in that run).

Taegan's Jet in R5, Duke Nukem in R7

For any early form studiers, just a possible heads-up, the weather forecasts are not looking good for Bingo for tomorrow nor for D'ville on Tuesday and perhaps even Scotts on Wednesday. Don't mean to be a doom n gloom merchant though so hopefully all forecasts will improve and all racing will go ahead as planned this week...

Be(s)t of luck to all
