To be fair many of theses 3 yr olds are still lightly raced and improving - very difficult to judge how good a horse is going to be - that said I also think that some of the higher rated horses (e.g. Africa Rising) are over-rated

Agree fully...and a horse like CHILLI CC is underrated...if going on his 3rd last and 2nd last runs alone,not even talking abt his win today.

What I am trying to say is that there is a big difference in what they are merit rated and what maybe they should be.I think we talking about 10 lengths for one and about 15 lengths for the other.

F, to be fair, many of these artificially higher rated horses should come back into line this year. Fantastic for racing and all owners.

Can Gavin do the Jackpot? I dont think so, but hope he does.

the key to successful punting is to do your own handicaping without the several restrictions the official handicapers have and highlight the differences so you make a horse well in and also to do your own pricing up so you can identify the value when the official oddsmakers price up...everything in this game is about opinion and if you havent got faith in your own opinion then its going to be very difficult to be profitable at it
