Race 7 - New Predator 7/1, Ten Gun Salute 14/1

I was impressed by New Predator’s comeback run. Seems they tried to teach him to come from the back and he ran on extremely well. I for one believe he is lengths better on the Standside course. 2nd behind Noah, 3rd behind Legal Eagle and he even won his maiden on this day last year. He’s got a good draw which he should make use of and go handy – he’s a hard horse to pass when allowed to dictate. I give him an excellent chance here – surely this is his target – as he can’t stay the 2000m of the Summer Cup.

Ten Gun Salute is my other pick. 1600m probably a bit short but this standside course will suit him very well. He must be ridden from the back and he has enough time to get into his stride. He might get a place here and I also make him a big runner in the Summer Cup.

Race 5 – Africa Rising 28/10, Safe Harbour 12/1

Africa Rising has been prepped for this race. 3rd run after rest – seems a class above this bunch and should go close.

Safe Harbour ran against boys last time so Tarry must think a bit of her. Won’t hurt at the price.

Race 8 - Heavenly Blue

Was between Heavenly Blue and Doosra for me and I've gone for the former just because he has around the turn experience. Could go either way IMO. I'm still not sure how good he is or Doosra for that matter - we'll find out on Saturday.

Race 9 – Rivarine 3/1

desperately unlucky last time, 3rd run after rest - low weight, Lyle up. Should go very close again.
