Trying a trifecta in race 2--
Banker Danza
5/9/8
banker Brazuca.
Few times.

Brazuca`s class and heart pulled him through, nice hard prep race that should tell his trainers a few stories

Race 8 today show how hard it is for racing to be even vaguely predictable if the current definition of MR is taken at face value.
If MR represents a horses "innate ability" then look at the dilemma of punters making reasonable investments in exotics.
In a field of 14 runners:
a)only 2 runners are running off their current innate ability(3 & 4)
b) 9 of the runners are running off ratings of between 10 and 17.5 Kgs less than their innate ability
If you spending a bit, you could not feel even reasonably comfortable with anything less than the field,as any one of those horses has to merely bounce back a bit,and they will win, regardless of current "form"
Race cards are full of these races daily and often provides the bounce back result that creates the carryovers.
I'm not sure whether "equine roulette" is not more accurate than "handicap" in this type of example!
Will pools be maintained with less and less payback to the masses?

In the UK the commentator might have said , "nice run by All Over The World but the handicapper will get her next time"
In South Africa a Filly winning half a length from a MR 50 Mare is going to be the next Dancewiththedevil
