Think the problem is they have to try and race because of the 3 feature races? If they switched to Poly plenty runners would need to be eliminated ?

Well done to GC for not moving the meeting. On the morning of racing the pen is 26 and the forecasts (I'm looking at anyway, viewed 3) show light rain through the morning. That is no reason to cancel or move a meeting imho. I am also sure moving a meeting is not as simple as we might like to think and that there are owners/trainers who want specific horses running on grass (and possibly specifically at this track) and they have been starved of opportunity of late, it is right to afford them every opportunity to run. Sometimes the minority need must outweigh the majority. I don't agree with a lot about SA racing, and maybe I am bias because I definitely wouldn't be having a bet if they switched to the ever-so dull racing that is the Greyville poly track (personal opinion of course) but, seemingly unlike the vast majority, I applaud GC for sticking with Scottsville today, for whatever reason, whether the meeting is ultimately lost completely or in part. I hope, personally, and for their sake, it is started and finished.
PS I didn't look at the Vaal yesterday because the forecast was for some pretty heavy rain and thunderstorms going through the afternoon. Obviously didn't work out that way.

read your views and reasons, and now see it differently,
you are correct in what you say although i looked at it differently.
maybe i see it only from a punters view which is wrong, as its the trainers, owners and punters that make up this game.
