Not an easy card
Race 1: The raced runners are quite weak, so the supported first timer Head Honcho should be the one.
Race 2: match race between Brazuca and Whiskey Baron, and I will go for WB as he is on the upgrade. Mambo Mine and Tahini to fill the quartet.
Race 3: Hernando's Promise is selected to beat Gimme One Night and Give it Away but there is not much between them.
Race 4: Cherry Bliss has been knocking on the door and is a narrow selection in an open race. Sabinas Dynasty is good ew value at 12/1.
race 5: Al Danza and Miss Marker appeal at the weights, but anything could win this.
Race 6: Don't Stop Dancing drops back in trip and is selected to win an open race.
Race 7: Cape Fling could be anything and is worth following.
Race 8: Verdier and Border Control should fight this out with a preference for Verdier.

that stable often wins on debut. If its been backed then it will win.

There were a fair few that were 'punted in' from the Nel stable and didn't win last season, at the current price I wouldn't touch.

Tiffendell beaten by Veales mount lto (TIFFINDELL (P Strydom) was inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.)

Look at the form of Keep The Faith in that race

If Strydom ever retires , he would make a roaring trade being a vet , it seems as though every mount of his , that doesn't win is examined post race , is this done for free

Race 1 Kenilworth: Hook's grandam is Tawny Red who has foaled Nacarat and numerous graded winners including, Set Afire, Rudra, etc. Hooks dam, Red Parade, has produced Kingvoldt. Red Ray, Brutal Force, Bishops Bounty all hail from this impeccable family through Nacarat. Royal Chalice, the 1988 July winner dam is Port Wine who produced the remarkable Tawny Red.

Do you use breeding much in your bets Naresh? I used to when I punted in the UK, but found it less important in SA

Cayote looks worth a punt at 3/1 first time as a gelding. If he is going to feature at all in the Cape Summer season he should be able to win a race like this

To be honest I have found numerous winners at any price with breeding in terms of horses being well related. Still learning about matings, ie, which sires works best with which crosses. Last week I backed Love to Boogie. Its dam, Taineberry, was an Oaks winner but has produced mostly sprinters including, Marys Pride and Count Express.

Posted this a couple of weeks ago. As you can see Main Exchange won yesterday.

Especially in maidens and runs just after that, well related horses can improve in leaps after their debut run sometimes even after their 4th, 5th run depending on the distance, equipment change, etc. Chit Chat is related to Twitter, having the same dam an second run from Cape Town. Main Exchange is from the family of Arachne, Forest Path, Spanish Galliard.

When Chit Chat ran its first run in PE, it ran behind Gucci Rebel which I backed at 100/1

It was Gucci Rebel first run from Cape Town and its half sister to Sea Cat who is undefeated in PE. Punters find the strangest ways of finding winners :cheer:
