Ive been a Pocket Power fan all along but even for PP it will be a stiff task at those weights.

I still think he will have the measure of anything weighted 53 and above. But conceding 6.5-7 kg to Jagged Ice, Wonder Lawn, Desert Links, Russian Sage and River Jetez will be very tough.

3-1, as PP currently stands, is a shit price at those weights.

In the UK the bookies would definately take him on, lets see what the SA bang gat bookies offer...

And if Likethot gets a run @ 51.5 especially if he wins Sat Cup Trial (Anton rides and gets no penalty I think!) and Our Giant scratches and Anton takes the ride. Almost won Summer Cup in the past and carried lots of weight well last run!

I would think if Our Giant does get scratched then Anton would surely be on HT

I have a copy of the video last years July on my laptop that I downloaded following last years race (tabgold). I've just watched it again and I must say that the winning combination was awesome. At the top of the straight I would have given HT no chance. In fact I was about 50 meters from the line on the day and when they came past I thought Jagged Ice had won. All I remember seeing is Anton Low on HT and almost looking towards where we were standing on the Tent Town side. I could not hear a thing because of the roar of the crowd.

I saw Jagged coming back and Shaun Cormack patting him on the neck and I thought oh well deserved winner but then he turned up the ramp. I thought this is not what the winner is supposed to do surely.

A minute later the black and gold came around the corner and I went absolutely nuts. What a day it was I cant wait for this year.

PP gave HT 3kg last year, only beaten a neck despite not being at best.
Now 1/2 kg better off.
Gave Jagged Ice 3.5kg. Now 3kg worse off.

Since then has won 2Gr1 and a Gr2
Hunting Tower and Jagged Ice aggregate wins 0
The champ has improved while the other 2 have stagnated or gone backwards.
3/1 may not be 'value' but he sure isnt going to drift after he wins the Gold Challenge on Sat(another Gr1)

O ye of little faith !

Interesting that he has never won outside of Cape Province.

This week end at the weights should be no race.

Imbongi a challenger if the Pace is on.

July with Uncle Ormie

What an asinine comment.

Let me re-Phrase for Dashing Jack' sake.

It should be of interest to punter that a horse, that is fav for the biggest race in SA has never won outside of his home town. Albeit only on three occasions.

Whether that means he wont win is another story.
