Chicken, defend the man by all means, by all accounts he is a very decent chap, but there can be no denying his commentaries are too often very poor. That said, I do much prefer him though to the Gauteng Screamer and the KZN Wannabe Poet!

If a coach obviously makes major errors in his selection of players people criticise him... they don't think they are coaches nor do they want to be... Why should a commentator be any different? If a doctor gives me incorrect medical advice I don't sit back and think I should have studied medicine so I can cure myself.
If you have watched PE Racing for as long as I have then you know that this is the norm and has been so for ages... People say it adds to the flavour of PE racing and my answer to that is "do you put all the lights off in your house once a week and sit around a candle with an old radio remembering the good old days?" Pe Racing is no longer the poor country bumkin and it should not be treated as such. If Racing is to be marketed in any form then at least the Voice of the product needs to be accurate.
