She was another one of those "emotional" worldbeaters......I sometimes think it would be worthwhile digging out the old threads (when a couple of us were labelled naysayers) .........I never had her higher than 105 in my book (how they rated her 111 was based on the same emotion I think-they chose the highest rated possible line horse,on one run, and gave her the maximum)and shes going right back to the right figure now!
Its not rocket science, and although it can sometimes fool us,"the arithmetic" is still the best guide.

It was announced that he went to hospital for observation , but he says he is ok.
I hope there is an enquiry into that race , the more I think about it the more I question why M J Byleveld who has only once not ridden VICTORIOUS JAY suddenly chooses to jump ship . Not convinced.
I thought I was the only one that noticed that. I've been following that horse many times and did my money on it and when i noticed Byleveld on Milton I jumped ship and backed Milton. Not talking from my pocket now but just found it weird too.

Again the same crap almost happened here again now. Arctic Green and Tiffindel taken out by the 5 horse when both were going well. Unbelievable

Prix du Cap ratings
If you use Captain's Flame as the line horse (98) then Just Sensual ran 103. CF was a consistent 100 earlier in the season, and seems to have bounced back to best. So I will rate this race: (with official MR in brackets)
Just Sensual 105. (109)
Captain's Flame 100 (98)
Gimme Six 96. (90)
A Time to Dream 94 (102)
Silver Mountain 97 (105)
Goodtime Gal 92. (103)
Whose that Girl. 88. (90)
Just Sensual is probably better over 1600m. Captain's Flame back to best form. Gimme Six ran above rating - watch next time if in a handicap. A Tine to Dream is overrated- got bumped unjustified 4 points for a win in PE. Silver Mountain ran way below her ability. Goodtime Gal poor run from wide draw- perhaps blinkers did not suit.
So far, the 3 year fillies are a decent, but not exceptional crop. There are quite a few around with scope for improvement, so that opinion could change over the next few months. The 4 year old fillies are no great shakes, with Bela -Bela the best of them, but not a patch on the previous crop.

Stipes Report:
Approaching the 200m NEBULA (G Cheyne) was bumped outwards by MILTON (M J Byleveld), which made contact with the outside running rail, became unbalanced and took an awkward stride and dislodged Jockey G Cheyne. EIGHTH WONDER (O Noach), which was following had to take evasive action. An Inquiry will be opened regarding this incident.

Aldo Domeyer, riding the crest of a wave, has hit rough water and is sitting out a ten-day suspension for his part in the fall of Greg Cheyne at Kenilworth nine days ago, writes Michael Clower.
The stipes ruled that he “failed to take sufficient corrective measures and was a source of interference” when riding the winner Victorious Jay.
It is not easy keeping half a tonne of horseflesh straight at nearly 60kph, particularly when it is beginning to tire, you weigh only 55kg and you are perched on little more than a postage stamp – but Domeyer is taking the ban on the chin.
He said: “I didn’t have much control of my horse, he is very strong and he tends to do that (hang) but neither I nor MJ Byleveld on Milton (in the lead) was aware that Greg was where he was. However I understand where the stipes are coming from – somebody gets hurt so they have to act – and I am taking the suspension immediately.”
He signed off with an Andre Nel double on Saturday on Straat-Kind and Skip A Beat and then won the finale on River Cam, the first winner in his new role as number one to Candice Bass-Robinson. “It’s nice to be promoted from making tea to being stable jock,” he commented drily – a reference to his early days as a teenage wannabee doing anything at the Bass yard just to be involved.
Cheyne, who missed three of Alan Greeff’s five Fairview winners on Friday, also sat out Saturday explaining: “I never made the improvement I was hoping for during the week.”
