Jeff has the most amazing ability to judge a race and his timing is incredible..there were many examples of this show testament to his ability in the saddle but there was one race that stood out for me in the not too distant past when Jeff was still riding in SA. It was july day and he had a mount for Alistor Gordon(10/1) and Marwing was on a horse for Joey Ramsden which was the favourite i think it was Predestination. Jeff went round them at the 650m mark and made a break for it. Marwing came flying up the outside but Jeff held on a dimishing head. Wish to see him back in Sa soon.

At the time...1984... I was in charge of security for Wolf Power and Bodrum (Aparthetd at the time}
I found Jeff an amazing down to earth guy,always had time for me and the guards i posted at Milnerton
I rode shotgun, (armed with a massive shotgun) from Milnerton to Kenilworth for both the Queens Plate and the B&H Metropolitan which he both won
Amazing memories...would really love to see him win the July
I am also guilty of always backing him for 3rd many times (only because he never really got the top rides in the July...lol)
