Roland if you didn't strike another bet after the announcement of track change they may entertain your query. I did take other bets and therefore should have seen the notification apparently. Write to complaints@wsb.co.za

When they contacted KZN bookies for new fields they were told not to nil and void

Wsb pointed out rule 6.6 and were told not to void

Bob they are referring to races for ante post in 6.6. You are entitled to a full refund. See rule 6.2

I had a bet on Secret Captain before the changed to Poly - WSB never refunded me :(

Surely they are subjected to the rules as laid down by the Gambling Board - and those rules state that bets need to be refunded in case of a change of venue - or am I wrong ? If I'm right, then WSB (or any other bookmaker) can not change these rules willy-nilly as they see fit - whether they publish this on their site is neither here not there ?

To me it looks like KZN Bookies Society made a decision that they weren’t entitled to make because they don’t know their own rules.
All they’ve done is cause chaos because they have forced different operators to make a different decisions. If you placed a bet with Hollywood and it wins you get a refund but WSB would have paid you out …. On the other hand, HW refunds you your losing tickets and WSB doesn’t.

If that Betdata sms is verified to be correct then as far as I am concerned, KZN Bookies are liable. I believe that Ashley Madraymuthoo ashley@bookies.co.za is the person to contact and request an explanation. Maybe if enough people do that, they’ll think twice in future.

Betdata is from what I was told the company that call all the shots and provide the rules etc to all/most of the companies. They were the ones who decided the bet stands for some unknown reason.

In which province is the WSB online platform registered ? That is the province rules they need to follow. Walk in customers in different provinces will be subjected to that province rules.

It's more difficult than that. From what I believe Betdata are responsible for sending fields, dividends, results and all claims. So whoever did null and void would have had no further access to changes for the entire meeting so once again it comes back to Betdata
