Hi Guys,
Turffontein Stanside today
Race 1: Boatswain(2) been running in features so back to the maidens so will win. Take exactas with Crassus(4) 12-1 also ran in feature last so ignore that run & Sweet Trial(14) 14-1 who improved 2nd start.
Race 2: Takingthepeace(4) 11-10 on paper should turn the tables on London Secret(1) 17-20.
Race 3: I like Mambo Symphony(
7-2 only concern around the bend for the first time. Manitoba(9) 5-2 will be there, Matthew Lips(5) 2-1 would prefer the inner track as he is a front runner and think will run out of steam on the longer straight. Watch for an improved run from Jika(4) 12-1
Race 4: Paree(
12-1 is a horse i like. Look at the Sha Boom Sha Boom formline. She was baulked at the 300m mark where she would have finished much closer + she is dropping in the ratings 5 points since that run + last run was way too short. This is my BIG VALUE OF THE DAY. Comme-Ci-Comme-Ca(3) 6-1 will be there along with Save The Day(9) 12-1 also dropping in the ratings 7 points and favourite and top weight Oh My Darling(1) 2-1
Race 5: Wild Horizon(
17-10 BEST BET ON THE CARD. Take a look at his last run, ran 2nd behind Let It Rain who got penalised 6 points. In turn he was 3 lengths clear of the 3rd horse. Supertube(6) 13-2 should run into places thats my exacta along with top weight Amsterdam(1) 11-2
Race 6: Arabian Beat(3) 7-2 Another that has tumbled in the ratings 19 points since end of March amazing!! Her last run she finished 7th 3.75 behind Effortless Reward. Roquebrune finished 5th who in turn came out and beat Kapitan by 3.65 lenghts who in turn beat Arabian Beat on the 6th May by about 2L but is now 3.5kgs better off. Another BIG RUNNER!!!
Race 8: Serene Countess(1) 33-10 as a 3yr old i think she will have the beating of Dame Kelly(12) who is the 2yr old. She went up in trip too soon 1800m where now she drops in trip to 1400m which will suit her down to the ground. Take exactas/Swgs with Shepherd's Delight(2) 17-2
Good Racing

BOATSWAIN
Only concern is 1000m – wants further - CRASSIUS in the sw and exacta
LONDON SECRET
Seemingly kidding the field for the first 800m … Should go in again – Takingthepeace will improve but I don’t think enough to beat the top one.
MATTHEW LIPS
This run was excellent – Only the stronger rider stopped him. Walker is rated – My Best Bet at the price…18/10 – Sw with MAMBO SYMPHONY
OH MY DARLING
Overaced and perhaps too far last – If Rouge Allure gives her a lead will go very close but by no means a good thing – Perhaps Blinkers or pacifiers in future if she fails.
WILD HORIZON
I make this a good bet if you can get 3-1.
Respect DETONATION
Runs his best races Turffontein. That last run too short and also found some trouble late –
PURE BLONDE
This guy has heart – He needed gelding badly – Now he’s cut I think we will see him win – Concern is that it’s his first un without the stones but he almost won after an almost 9 month rest – Bigger concern is the jock who is sure to be more in need of the run than the horse.
I have respect for ARABIAN BEAT and KAPITAN
Race 7 nightmare
Include Dragoon, Westkus Klong, Cedrus Libani(first choice)Starcraft Prince and Tribal Force
DAME KELLY
Sick draw but raced against top fillies – If she was drawn better I would say impossible to beat… Look at her competetion … real battlers
SERENE COUNTESS ,Sheperds Delight, I am Titanium, Front Club and Fiji Winter(include in quartets
Brighton Belle
She is perhaps a good sw horse with DAME KELLY

London Secret won very easily on debut this cd. De Koch runner had excuses and ran pretty well but dunno if will improve enough.
Wild Horizon if repeating the level of form when right next to a decent sort last time would win.

A friendly reminder that racing at Turffontein Racecourse will now get under way at 14:50pm as a result of the taxi strike that resulted in several traffic delays throughout Johannesburg this morning.
We are happy to report that all floats carrying today’s runners are making their way to the venue and we look forward to a good day/night meeting despite the earlier frustrations.
Amended times as follows:
Race 1 - 14h50, Race 2 15h20, Race 3 15h55, Race 4 16h30, Race 5 17h05, Race 6 17h40, Race 7 18h10, Race 8 18h45.
