I have paid very expensive school fees over the years re racing.
imho , this game/sport is about money management iro any system , bad money management is equal to the Poor house.
I don't play exotics because I am not fond of them and from my personal record keeping , they don't work for me.
I don't like looking at the prices of horses before I've studied the card.
thereafter I play 2% of my bank on a selection irrespective of the price.
The most I will do is a double on selections be it places or wins.
My bank is readjusted when I have achieved 25% growth ( this is not very often but there is growth)

Furthermore , my monthly budget allocates funds for my horses,poker etc.

I realize that this may not be the platform for my comments , but just thought I would put it out there.

P.S. when respected posters put their selections up and mine is not the same , I always go back to the card to see what I may have missed.
