No false rail today, I don't know if that means they've just removed the rail that separates the inner and outer track as they did a couple weeks ago. If that is indeed the case then draws may not be of vital importance.
R1 Winter Watch looks a bit of a penalty kick but funnier things have happened.
R2 I make a tricky start to the PA which may Boad for a healthy dividend today as the dividends have been mediocre of late. Favorite is Huhi from the Gary Alexander stable who haven't had a winner in 56 runners, so I will choose to oppose and have dutched Zinganna and Graf spee. Moroccan spice has the most scope for improvement and warrants inclusion.
R3 Another tricky race for pa purposes where a case can be made for many. Two year old looks to be improving the further she goes so warrants inclusion. Vul indlela ran well last time but drop in trip is a bit of a concern. Island legend and geosphere also warrant inclusion and I feel the e/w value lies with Hot Talent. HT over what I feel is her ideal trip and with Gavin up must be respected. Wide in the second leg again for me.
R4 Machismo probably a worthy favorite, for me Cherokee grey as well as Nephrite are the value. CG has great c/d form and Alec Laird has been in decent form of late. At around 8's I feel is value for an e/w bet.
R5 Sergeant pepper raised three points for his last second. For me I think Barbados cruise could complete the hatrick. Last couple of formlines have been rock solid and with Delpech up from the one draw I won't be betting against him completing the hatrick. Racing socks makes place appeal. Line in the sand in banker BC in the pa as the perm is starting to get expensive.
R6 Silken, September bloom ap Chanel, peg o my heart all have chances but for me I'll again be drawing a line in the sand and go with Flip flash who the step up in trip has finally come and on breeding should love the extra. At around 5's I think represents the value. Respect for the above mentioned but gotta take a chance somewhere.
R7 American Tiger far too short for me liking and wouldn't be surprised if they start 4/1 bar come race time. A race where I feel one needs to load up again. Samar makes decent effort e/w appeal. Post maiden form has been pretty decent and may be rewarded for consistency. Speed monitor also warrants inclusion after the gutsy last win. Massive place appeal to the inconsistent champions cup. Samar for me though and at 8's represents very good value.
R8 Polly wolly doodle worthy favorite imo but far too short being theoretically drawn on the wrong side. Stable companion too big a price at 25's on 3rd run after a rest and has dropped 8 points since arriving in Gauteng. Very well bred and has massive scope for improvement. Another I feel also at decent value is Silvery Dream. Gvz has been in hot form since moving up here to an extent. 2400 may have been too far lto and the run behind Shankar gates raced on the inside which was dead that day with all the rest running on down the outside and has thus dropped five points in the ratings. Decent pick up ride for Munger and at the prices another with decentbe/w value.
Overall an incredibly difficult card imo where percentage plays may be the play today.

Admittedly it's not easy for a juvenile to go over ground in open company this early in one's career, but the opposition looks ordinary at best. She has got closer with every start and looks the most likely to improve further.
Nice Bayen

American Tiger was coming home strongly but it's run came to an end about 100m out.
