Seeing that the operator ALWAYS defaults to squeezing the existing lemon here's a suggestion that would massively increase funding :
Lobby aggressively for the removal of the 3% 'provincial (?) tax' deducted from winning bets struck by bookmakers. This arrangement is archaic and dates back to a different era when there was no VAT or other such taxes.
This would DOUBLE the operator take out from winning bookmaker bets.
Then do something that is completely foreign to this operator : REDUCE the deduction on bookmaker winning bets to 5% from 6%. They still end up with an 80% higher takeout from this sector. (If you study turnover figures this would allow them to increase stakes by a massive percentage across the board as well as fund barrier trials and sectional timing ).
So instead of endlessly fighting with bookmakers go and fight with government for this overdue concession which would have an immediate & dramatic impact on the game.

Not only magi, elvisking is the biggest ARM in this universe and if they punt horses on other unknown planets I am sure even they would agree that they have nobody who can compete with those two. :S

Sort of on Mister A's wave length, I don't want a reporter to tell me what I can get from a publication. 9 times out of 10 I have either picked it up myself or the reporter has missed something somewhere else. More important for me is having the interviews with the trainers and jockeys pre and post race. IF trainer / jockey A says his 30-1 shot has been struggling and it comes out an wins ask him what he did differently. Same goes when favorite goes missing. Find said trainer / jockey and ask him so we dont have to speculate.
I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

1. Totes are clean and treat EVERYBODY with respect, even the R6 punters.
2. NO vouchers to be given instead of cash, for measly amounts like R500.00.
3. Proper trained staff, who actually want to work, not going to tea as the horses are lining up.
4. Bring back something like the old Newmarket used to do----give every entrant to the course a free entry into choosing a pick6/7 etc..............only a straight line allowed....pool to be carried over until won.... pool/ guarantee put up by the relevant authorities.
