Some good mature posts for a change. The first step in solving a problem is to acknowledge that there is one in the first place. The appointment of a full time stipe is that first step and things should start improving from here.

easy when you and I debate, its by no means having a go at you.
you are passionate that evident and I am too.
so in that respect you and I and many more on this forum are actually cut from the same piece of cloth in many respects.
but just a further point.

I have children, and not all are the same.one is brilliant and the other needs help in school etc
my point being where do you think I need to give a little extra too in term of help and advice.

to me its evident the struggling one needs more attention without having to compromise the other. And that's the balance that's needed.

even if a lower quality animal is sent to flamingo the teacher and the principal need to be more on top of their game than otherwise usual and you do know who the teacher and principal represent in this instance.

its chaos otherwise when they are not properly supervised and that's whats been happening all this wise..
the last outpost and do as you please

Sucker

at the risk of offending all my other trainers and all trainers outside of Kiberley i would say most of them are proper horsemen. They get given nothing but problems and are expected to deliver runners week in week out.

My point is that is its NOT about kimberley but rather about the rest of the body.

I have no doubt that Tienie or Corrie or Steph (and others) could train in JHB or KZN with the same success (prorata ) as they currently enjoy.

So its my opinion that the improvement of horse being sent there will fix the perception of a dumping ground.

The MAJOR problem with Kimberley is the training fees and or deals. When you only pay R5000 a month then the trainer is almost forced to run the horse every week so he can possibly get stakes.
The owner is also pressuring the trainer to run the horse because stakes are less.

So for me if Kimberley was waken over by the HKJC and run as a stand alone facility it would be world class.
