Race 1. Insinya was very disappointing her last start in CT, but showed enough ability early, and I would expect her to be able to win in PE if she regains her form. Klawerkate has solid form and should be in the finish. Nicole drops back in class and distance and must be respected. Free the Wind showed some ability in Gauteng. Goddess Aurelia another with good enough upcountry form to win.
race 3. Ginger Rose very disappointing in CT-hopefully can improve here. Little between Equestris, Giovana and Joking Dice last time. Flamingo Vlei another battling maiden that could pop up.
Race 5. Chit Chat tries this trip for the first time but has been running on over 2000m, and should have no problem with it. Has good turf form, but her poly run was ok given her very wide draw that day. Is fit and well, and should be competitive. Looks an open race, and pace and tactics will be important. Morethanthat has good poly form but has to give weight to all. Chisanyama has adapted well to the poly and was running against stronger in CT.

This was a weak maiden- 7 four year olds and 9 three year olds. The 3yos are 4.5kg out at the weights at this time of year. 4yos filled 3 of the first 4 places. All four placed fillies drawn in single figures. The winner is her own worst enemy- invariably slow away, but seldom far off them. Not one that I liked, but for once, she jumped on terms, and hardly a shock result.
The favourite ran a poor race, but was never a "good thing" .
