Hope there's some evens about Silver Thursday at race time. She's a good filly. After her sparkling debut, was rushed into a feature which did not suit her at all - she is definitely not a sprinter and her class only pulled her through on debut. What was a good run was LTO behind the very smart filly Folk Dance(who I put up here as a massive shout on Gold Cup day and she ran a cracker from draw 15 at the highest level) so that is good form.

Sure she's grown and strengthened up during the break and should be winning this off 54kgs.

Captain My Captain must be highly rated at home? was taken to the Cape and was favourite for 2 out of his 3 starts there. Now comes back home after a layoff, straight up to 8 furlong and is a short fav again..

Isn't it just SH!T when u tune into racing LATE, just before the off....... select a winner u would have backed at 6 or 7 / 1...... horse shits in & there's no money in your account & not enough time to Deposit & get on.
     would have been a beautifull start to the day... so long spring...... so long MONEY !!

Easy after the race, but no ways should the fav have been odds-on - returning from a break, irst time over more ground - plenty of doubt surely ....

Some thoughts on the rest ...

R2: Two horse race ... take your pick

R3: The desperate stakes ... Orson obviously has the most scope fro improvement, but the trip may find him out - Graf Spree has run well over this track and trip and must be first choice on that - still, I'm loading up in the BP

R4: Save the Rhino has not won for a while and is another who imo is too short at odds-on - should be good enough for the BP / PA though; Parisienne Chic is best in and like the track, has been running on over 2000, and although there has to be some stamina doubts; I think at 10's she represent value, while Fortune Fella has had 6 tries this track and trip for 3 wins and 2 places - another who can upset the favorite imo - to be safe I'd go wide in the P6

R5: Closely contested 3 yr old fillies handicap - another leg to go wide

R6: I agree with many that Silver Tuesday is the right one - looks better than rated and is probably the banker on the card; dangers imo are My Friend Lee, but she has her 2nd run after a few months' break and a biggish weight, so the bigger danger might be Jo Mambo who has won at this track and looks well weigthed

R7: The Hat could do the trick - only the stable will know, but apparently he may need this; so that imo leaves the door open for Amazing Strike - not badly in at the weights - has a fair draw, is a winner this track and trip and Gavin can't hurt; Shukamisa good form, but drawn a bit wide

R8: I fancied Sabre Dance last time, but he was not striding out - going to give him another chance from pole position; King and Empire also has a nice draw and has won twice this track and trip - may need it after a break though, so the favorite El Bombero is probably the safer inclusion

R9: Tough race to close; Ali Bon Dubai more to do imo; American Tiger runs on well and despite a widish draw will be competitive again; Tom Fool has come down in the weights and could be the dark horse

Enjoy B)
