Re: Summary of Grand Heritage day
7 years 10 months ago......dont really want to put the boot in......can't kick something that is already down on the ground.....but the warning signs as to the health of the game are clear for all to see...change can only happen when those that are in denial are forced to face facts and start doing something constructive or are replaced by people that are not in it for personal gain or on ego trips.... :SWarren Laird wrote: Pirate I can not agree with you more. Spot on . I go through that every other day.

7 years 10 months agowhen last did you miss the equus award function in august or do you have to pay to be there as im sure its an only by invitation event?Dave Scott wrote: No denial, i have been trying to set up better communication with operators and "their" clients for months and only get informed that they are working meetings to resolve, which i have no involvement.
As far as freebies i get an invite once a year to the July from Gold Cirle and spend much time promoting the event, pics, parade ring etc and it certainly is not a relaxing day.
As far as an invite for a free meal to local functions, i can again assure u the cost to travel and time spent taking pics etc
Plus i dont need the meal and spend far more at the box than i ever get back from racing

Pirates
I think you would be wasting your time.
He is an accountant tax expert to beat exact .
Has a duty to his shareholders
Owned one horse in his whole term .
Not interested in Horse Racing
Been feed so much Bull by Vee M. Who spends more time being a tipster than a manager - Clyde (the King of the gab ) and our dear friend LW. Between them and the new boy on the block RS they run or they think they run horse racing.
Personal joke - I went to the inspection of Durbanville were they had the gallops - who was running the show - not the trainers not the jockeys - CB and LW they were the ones to decide whether to race or wait two weeks. All costs paid to fly down . Just goes to show.

I do love the big days at Turfontein I have to say. However as an owner I think Singapore is the way to go.
