Race 1 - Arabian Word debuted in same race as Premier Show and both were unsuited by the 1000m. AW wasn't stopping at the finish after never being in the race and sure to appreciate the extra today at a nice place price.
Race 2 - Some unknowns here but Carmalita's debut this cd is decent form and might have needed last over shorter.

Back to the Vaal inside - draw factor (4 races down the straight) unknown especially after the rains .... thoughts :
R1: On a line through Prince of War, there seems very little between Torio Lake and Premier Show and they are drawn next to each down the inside, so the latter is the value imo; the only debutante seemingly finding some betting support is King of the Bay
R2: Carmalita made a very good debut and might have needed her last start in a weakish looking field; if she repeats he debut I think she will prove hard to beat; Forever Joy fair last run when they all finished in a heap and on a line through Lily Starlett should have her work cut out to finish in front of Carmalita; White Winter has form on the Poly, so not for me; imo the other raced runners look really moderate and none of the first timers are finding any real betting support, so Carmelita really looks one of the better bets on the card
R3: Four horse race, of which Kinaan will probably run 4th ; any of the others capable of winning imo
R4: Hot Talent beat subsequent winners by 8 lengths, so if fit and well should take some beating imo; probably not a lot separating Excalibur's Return and Palmieto again, and these two appear the main dangers; Cassini supported on debut, so could prove the dark horse
R5: The Dazzler has good form in KZN, but steps up in trip and imo has a lot to do at altitude at the weights against some hardened campaigners; Gentleman Only at the weights is a big danger imo, while Seventh of June also looks capable but has to shoulder top weight; Diamond Dancer, Sheet Weaver and Defy Gravity also in with chances
R6: Rightful King has his 3rd run after a log break during which he was gelded; strong finish last time, should prefer the 1200, so is my first choice; main danger imo Orapa who put up a very good penultimate run after a break and will go close if he can repeat that effort; none of the others bar maybe Sovereign Reign and Master Boulder can be ignored though
R7: Competitive sprint where Pillaroftheearth should at least give you a run for you money; Gavin takes the ride again, so first choice for me from Chief Sioux, Unchained Melody, Le Tigre and Alpine Glacier
R8: Azkur won a nice maiden, but now tries a lot further and looks to have been given a tough task by the handicapper, so I'm looking at the older fillies receiving weight from the 3 yr olds and Sammi Moosa imo now will appreciate this sort of trip; slow away in her last start when supported in the betting, so must have chance; Seeking Gold in form but may struggle to give SM 6.5 kgs and Tundra Taita although not without a chance, also has a tough task at the weights; Beautiful Shay, like Sammi Moosa, is probably now also looking for this trip and can't be ignored either
Small P6 for interest: (R63 for 10%)
