There are four significant factors at this track - Recent Form/Condition - weight , couplings and Newly acquired runners - Much Like Fairview, but recent condition and weight is more accentuated at this track.

The coupling and Newly acquired runners are most significant when there is a fancied/favored line horse in the race. I successfully surmised that the favored runner (Two Gunsy) would be turned over by Venice In May , which it was - should have taken it a step further if I really spent time on this card and checked the coupling, for the stable companion to Two Gunsy. What we would have found is that the horse was joint top merit rated runner, and had a far superior success rate at track and distance than Two Gunsy - cannot in all reality be deemed a shock winner.

At this track I have a special column on my form sheet - which heading is " Horse without recent form, coupled with qualified runner" and another column " Newly acquired runner coupled with qualified runner".

Just incidently , new acquisitions in fairview that are ranked higher than 1500 on my national log win within 2 starts about 50% of the time - and tthat is regardless of recent form.

This track and fairview are where one can turn a good profit just studying couplings and newly acquired horses.
